Mumbai: The whole country is celebrating Teachers Day today on 5th September. In such a situation, veteran actor Anupam Kher has paid tribute to his mentor aka friend Hemendra Bhatia. As a mark of his memory, Anupam is also celebrating a small celebration on 6th September for which he is inviting everyone through social media. Anupam Kher and Hemendra Bhatia met in September 1979 at BNA. That was Anupam’s first job as a teacher. Under the leadership of Raj Bisaria, both of them remained active together as a faculty. Let us inform that Hemendra Bhatia died on the morning of Tuesday 30 August 2022 in Mumbai. Bollywood veteran actor, writer, director and FTII alumnus Hemendra has acted in films like I Did Not Kill Gandhi, Satta and TV series Bharat Ek Khoj. He has also taught acting to Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Deepika Padukone.
Anupam Kher recounts his friendship of over 40 years with Hemendra Bhatia whom he first met as a faculty member at Bhartendu Natya Akademi, Lucknow, through the Ku app. If the post is to be believed, then the journey of Bhatia Sahib and Anupam Kher is 43 years old i.e. both are together since 1979.
Anupam Kher saysBhatia sahib and I started our journey as teachers in Lucknow in 1979. At that time I was 24 years old and they used to call me Kher Sahab. He helped me a lot in setting up Actor Prepares – The School for Actors. He became the first and only Dean of Actor Prepares.
