Mumbai: Actress Swara Bhaskar is counted among those beauties who do not shy away from talking about any issue. From Bollywood to political issues, Swara openly expresses her opinion. Recently, Swara spoke on the Boycott Bollywood trend.
In a special conversation, when Swara was asked about this trend, she said that hatred towards Bollywood is spreading which has gained momentum after the suicide of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Indulging in drugs, sex and alcohol is shown. Who is making films when everyone is doing this?
Swara Bhaskar said- ‘SuAfter the death of Shant Singh Rajput, the image of Bollywood is being tarnished. After Sushant’s unfortunate and tragic suicide, Bollywood is being portrayed as a dark place, which is only about drugs and alcohol and sex. My question is very simple if everyone is doing just that then who is making movies? Unfortunately Bollywood is being maligned. There are people who don’t like Bollywood.
Swara Bhaskar considered inflation as the reason behind the failure of the films. They said,’‘I want to say only Anurag Kashyap’s point in this matter. I heard one of his interviews in which he was saying absolutely right according to me. The country is going through a period of economic slowdown and film is one thing on which one does not want to comfortably spend money, when things are so expensive. Nobody’s talking about it. Everyone is blaming Bollywood, like Bollywood is responsible for people not coming to the theatre. Please tell that Anurag Kashyap had said about the boycott trend, ‘This is being done to divert attention from GST.’
Regarding the boycott, Swara further said that this entire trend is of social media. Their aim is to bring down Bollywood. Swara said- People boycotting films and their blind hatred are forgetting that many people get their livelihood from Bollywood.
Continuing her talk, the impeccable actress said-Yes, South films are doing well, that is to some extent. You hear about RRR, Pushpa and KGF because these are the three films in South which have done well but there are also so many films releasing which are not doing well. It is not that every film released in the South is a hit. You are hearing about people who are getting hit. Even in Bollywood there are Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Gangubai which were still hits.
On the work front, actress Swara Bhaskar has returned to the film after four years with ‘Jahaan Chaar Yaar’.
