Mumbai: Recently a big news has come out about actor Suraj Pawar, who played the role of Prince Dada in the famous Marathi film ‘Sairat’. It is reported that a case of cheating has been registered against Suraj Pawar in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra. Ahmednagar police busted this racket by arresting 3 people on 9 September. They were cheating people with the promise of government jobs. Suraj Pawar has been called to the police station to investigate the matter.
Giving information about the case, the police said – Suraj Pawar has been called for investigation in the case of cheating. His name has been taken by the complainant along with 3 others. The accused had promised the victim a government job in the state secretariat.
The police officer further said that the people of the gang had promised a job by taking Rs 5 lakh. The complainant had given them Rs 2 lakh in cash. This money was given at the guest house of Agriculture University of Rahoori in Ahmednagar. The remaining Rs 3 lakh was to be given after getting the joining order.
The accused had also prepared fake orders of the administration through computer graphics. The police have found fake joining orders, government seals and seals from the accused.
The two accused arrested during interrogation told the police that they had prepared these fake seals and seals with the help of Suraj Power. One of the accused had gone to the seal maker along with Suraj Pawar and said that he needed a government seal to shoot a film and it would not be misused. The investigation so far has revealed that Pawar is also an accused in this fraud case. Further action will be taken against Pawar after investigation.
Apart from ‘Sairat’, Suraj Pawar has also worked in Nagraj Manjule’s National Award winning short film ‘Pistulya’ and ‘Fundry’.
