Ridhi Dogra starrer Lakadbaggha to have world premiere as opening film at HBO film festival New York

The action-thriller which is touted to be India’s first film about an animal-loving vigilante, stars Anshuman Jha, Riddhi Dogra and Milind Soman in lead roles.

New Delhi / Team Digital. Riddhi Dogra, Anshuman Jha, Milind Soman starrer ‘Lakdabagha’ will have its world premiere as the opening film at HBO’s South Asian International Film Festival New York as well as its India premiere at the 28th Kolkata International Film Festival.

The action-thriller which is touted to be India’s first film about an animal-loving vigilante, stars Anshuman Jha, Riddhi Dogra and Milind Soman in lead roles. French DOP Jean Marc Selva has shot the film, while Kecha Khamphakdi (the stunt team behind Ong-Bak) has designed it to have an international feel with an Indian feel. It contains a story about Indian breed animals in Kolkata. The film attempts to bring the Israeli martial arts form ‘Krav-Maga’ to India. It promises to please animal lovers and action buffs the world over.

Anshuman Jha who got the opportunity to train with Tsahi Shemesh (who also trained the Avengers cast for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier) for the film says ‘Beasts and action films are my two biggest passions and I am grateful that Our film which is set in the city of Kolkata will have its India premiere at KIFF 2022 in Kolkata and its world premiere in the pet capital of the world New York City. ‘Lakdbagha’ is the story of an extraordinary journey of an ordinary boy. My superpower is my love of animals and being simple. So I am glad that we have made this film and this journey has taken 18 months of my life which will now end in New York and Kolkata. This film will be released in 2023. I am grateful and humbled to premiere our film at KIFF and SAIFF respectively.

Directed by Victor Mukherjee and produced by First Ray Films, the film is slated to release in early 2023.
