Mumbai: At the box office at the moment Bollywood films are in very bad shape. Boycott Bollywood is trending by putting it on social media. Due to this trend, the film is going to flop as soon as it is released. Movies are not able to meet their budget. Recently released Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar’s Rakshabandhan have been badly beaten. Everyone is giving their opinion on the disappointing performance of the films at the box office.
Many people are blaming the flop for the boycott trend. At the same time, filmmaker Prakash Jha gave his opinion on this. He commented on the condition of big budget films at the box office these days. Prakash Jha says that filmmakers are making rubbish films at the moment.
These days, busy in the promotion of his upcoming film ‘Mattu Ki Cycle’, Prakash Jha said in an interview.– ‘They should understand that they are making nonsense. No film is made just because of money, corporate and paying more money to the actors. It needs a good story that entertains.
Prakash Jha further said- ‘Most of the films are remakes of English, Korean, Tamil and Telugu films. They should make that story which is connected to the roots of the people. People of Hindi industry are speaking Hindi but what are they making. He is just making remakes. If you don’t have a story, stop making films. They should work hard and think of something new. People have become lazy. We are not investing in story and content. We are not giving time in writing. We are not respecting those who have good stories. We are seeing glamor who come for the shoot with 8-10 vans and 20-25 staff.’
Laal Singh Chaddha flopped because of the boycott trend, on which he said-If Dangal and Lagaan were flops at the box office, we would have understood that it was because of the boycott trend, but the film you made did not live up to the expectations of the people. I haven’t found anyone yet who said – Wow what a film it was.
Talking about the film ‘Mattu Ki Cycle’, through this, Prakash Jha is appearing in a strong character for the first time. The film was recently screened and liked at the Busan International Film Festival. The film is releasing on 16 September.
