Pankaj Tripathi, who has carved a niche for himself by playing a variety of characters in films in the last two decades, attended the ongoing 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa these days. There he told some such things about his acting journey which brought out a different aspect of his cinematic personality.
The actor told how he got his first role in films
Pankaj Tripathi participated in the ‘masterclass’ organized under IFFI and told how he had no idea that one day he would be cast for a film just like that and his acting journey would begin Will go He said, “I have been a student of ‘National School of Drama’ and used to act in various plays there. One day an actor could not turn up for the shoot due to some reason and then immediately asked me to replace him. Said. This is how my acting journey in films started”.
Didn’t get work for 7,8 years- Pankaj
It is not that Pankaj Tripathi, originally born in a very simple family of Gopalganj, Bihar, did not have to struggle to get work in films after coming to Mumbai. Pankaj Tripathi explains, “Initially after doing small work in films, there was a big gap in terms of work for the next 7-8 years and I did not get any notable work during this period. In such a situation, I read many books during that time. And continued to try to sharpen her acting skills”.
Pankaj Tripathi smilingly said that in today’s date, he is so busy that he gets very tired while working, sometimes he also feels boredom. And often their sleep is not complete even though they are very attached to their sleep!
Pankaj Tripathi’s most challenging character
When asked about the most challenging role he has played so far, Pankaj Tripathi said, “Although the process of acting is challenging in itself, but playing the character of Gurgaon proved to be very challenging for me. It was very difficult for me to play. The pain and conflict felt by that character haunted me for days”.

Pankaj Tripathi is known for bringing life to all kinds of characters big or small. Be it playing a variety of roles in films or acting in various web shows on OTT, Pankaj Tripathi is sure to garner appreciation for his work. In such a situation, when he was asked which is his most favorite character in the characters played on the screen, he said, “I like my character played in the film Masaan very much, although my character was very small. Through this film, I got the opportunity to shoot in Varanasi. When I went back to Banaras after 6 years, I once went and sat on the bench where we had shot. Also, I played a maths teacher in the film Neel Battey Sannata. I really like my role as well. My character in the web show Criminal Justice is very similar to my personality in real life. The only difference is that I wear a black coat in the show”.
