In the poster, Siddharth is seen dressed in a brown Pathani suit, with a jacket and a gun in his hand. His kajal-lined eyes and the talisman around his neck will remind you of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’ look. Netflix captioned the post, “The untold story of a brave agent. ‘Mission Majnu’ only on Netflix, January 20.” According to the film’s team, ‘Mission Majnu’ will take the audience ‘through the emotions of loyalty, love, sacrifice and betrayal with an action-packed screenplay where one wrong move can make or break the mission’.

The actor said in a statement that he is excited about the project as he is playing the role of a detective for the first time. “It shows India’s most thrilling covert mission, the one that changed the politics between India and its neighboring country in the 1970s,” he added. In a previous interview, the actor had revealed that he is not James Bond, but a master of manipulation.

Producer Ronnie Screwvala, on his part, said, “’Mission Majnu’ is a story of India’s rising power and place in the nation’s global status as a superpower, both the fastest growing nation and the largest democracy in the world. Siddharth Malhotra and Rashmika Mandanna bring this story to life and RSVP is truly proud to present it.”

This is Sidharth Malhotra’s second direct-to-digital release after ‘Shershaah’. He also has ‘Yoddha’ along with Rohit Shetty’s popular web show ‘Indian Police Force’.
