Asha Parekh said- ‘Everything is changed. The films that are being made now… I don’t know. We have become very westernised. Girls are coming to the wedding wearing gowns. Hey brother, our ghagra choli, sarees and salwar kameez are yours, don’t you wear them. Why don’t you wear them?’

Continuing her talk, Asha Parekh said‘She just sees heroines on screen and wants to copy them. Looking at the screen, we think that we will also wear the kind of clothes that they are wearing. Fat or whatever, we will wear the same. All this is becoming western. I feel sad We have great culture, dance, music. ,

On the podcast What the Hell Navya, Jaya had asked her daughter Shweta Bachchan and granddaughter Navya Nanda-‘Why is it, I want to ask both of you, that Indian women are wearing more western clothes?’ On this Jaya said- ‘I think whatever has happened has happened very unknowingly, we have accepted that western wear is more. Asha Parekh started her career as a child artist with the name Baby Asha Parekh. At the age of ten, he started working as a child artist in the film Maa (1952).
