Hearing on Kamal Rashid Khan’s bail plea postponed, KRK will spend 3 more days in jail

KRK aka Kamal R Khan, who is often dominated by controversial tweets on Twitter, is currently in jail. He was arrested by the Mumbai Police from the airport on 29 August. He was then produced in the magistrate court from where he was sent to judicial custody for 14 days. Although his lawyer had filed a bail petition in the court but it did not materialise.

Mumbai: KRK aka Kamal R Khan, who is often dominated by controversial tweets on Twitter, is currently in jail. He was arrested from the airport on 29 August by the Mumbai Police. He was then produced in the magistrate court from where he was sent to judicial custody for 14 days. Although his lawyer had filed a bail petition in the court but it did not materialise.

In fact, on Friday, September 2, his bail plea was to be heard in the Magistrate Court of Borivali, but his lawyer Jai Yadav told that the hearing was postponed till Monday because the judge is on leave. The court has adjourned the hearing on his bail till Monday, September 5.

Complaint of chest pain a few hours after the arrest

Kamal R Khan was sent to judicial custody for 14 days by the magistrate court on August 30 but he complained of chest pain. After this he was admitted to the hospital for treatment. Then on the night of 1 September he was shifted to Arthur Road Jail. From where he felt that on September 2, he would come out but it did not happen. He will have to stay for three more days.

Statement of police and KR’s lawyer on bail plea

The police had said in this case that KRK’s tweet was communal. He had targeted Bollywood personalities. At the same time, advocate Ashok Sargoi said that the actor had only commented on ‘Laxmmi Bomb’ in the tweet and it was not derogatory. It has been said in the petition that ‘KRK is a critic / or reporter of the film industry’.

KRK alias Kamal Rashid Khan has been arrested for posting objectionable tweets against Akshay Kumar and producer Ram Gopal Varma in the year 2020. According to media reports, he has been charged under IPC sections 153 (provocation with intent to cause riot) and 500 (punishment for defamation) and provisions of the IT Act.
