New Delhi / Team Digital. Govinda, who has made a distinct identity in Bollywood on the basis of his strong acting and superb dancing, is celebrating his 59th birthday today. Govinda, popularly known as Hero Number One, is one of the actors of Hindi cinema who has written his luck on the basis of his hard work and acting.
In the decade of 80 to 90, actors single-handedly used to compete with big actors. At one time such news started circulating in Bollywood that Govinda would single-handedly eat all the three Khans (Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan). Talking about Govinda’s family circumstances, his father Arun Ahuja was a well-known actor, and his mother was a singer.
But even before the birth of Govinda, the distance between his parents started increasing. It even came to the point that his father refused to even adopt him after his birth. However, everything got better with time. But his father suffered so much in films that he had to sell his house. Govinda graduated from commerce in 1963, after which he started looking for a job. During an interview, he even got rejected for not being able to speak English properly.
Govinda also got a chance to work in an advertising company named Elvin. However, the actor made a grand entry on the big screen in 1986 with the film ‘Ilzaam’. After this Govinda’s fortunes were such that he never looked back. At the age of just 22, the actor had signed more than 50 films. In his illustrious film career, the actor acted in more than 165 films. Govinda has done films like ‘Raja Babu’, ‘Shola Aur Shabnam’, ‘Deewana Mastana’, ‘Coolie Number One’, ‘Dulhe Raja’, ‘Saajan Chale Sasural’, ‘Hero No One’, ‘Coolie No One’, ‘Bade Miyan’. Has worked in superhit films like ‘Chhote Miyan’.
