Mumbai: South actor Vijay Deverakonda made his Bollywood debut as ‘Liger’. He was accompanied by Ananya Panday in the film. The film was written-directed by Puri Jagannath and produced in association with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. The film was released in theaters on August 25 this year. Made in Hindi and Telugu languages, the film was promoted as a pan India movie but it failed to live up to the expectations.

According to an English website, ED officials want to know the names of the company or people who funded Vijay Deverakonda’s ‘Liger’. ED officials believe that foreign money has been used in the making of the film.
If this has happened then it is a violation of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) of 1999. For this reason, the ED summoned Puri Jagannath and producer Charmy Kaur to verify the identity of the investors. Interrogated him for about 12 hours. It is also being claimed that many politicians have invested black money in the film.
Even before the release of ‘Liger’ movie, Vijay Devarakonda and Puri Jagannadh had announced another film, whose name was – ‘Jana Gana Mana’. When the film ‘Liger’ flopped badly, this film of Vijay and Puri went into cold storage.
