Double delight for Zee Studios as ‘Kennedy’ and ‘Zoram’ enter Sydney Film Festival

Zee Studios has been successfully and consistently carving out a niche for Indian storytelling globally with back-to-back premieres and screenings in the international festival circuit. This time Zee Studios has achieved a double delight by including ‘Zoram’ and ‘Kennedy’ in the prestigious Sydney Film Festival. While Manoj Bajpayee starrer ‘Zoram’ is in official competition, Rahul Bhat starrer Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Kennedy’ will be screened at the festival. The Sydney Film Festival will begin on June 7 and run till June 15, 2023.

Shariq Patel, CBO, Zee Studios said, “’Zoram’ and ‘Kennedy’ both are unique stories. It is a pleasure working with such great talents namely Anurag Kashyap and Devashish Makhija. It’s a privilege to be a part of the prestigious Global Film Festival. After Rotterdam, Cannes and Berlin, we are looking forward to enthralling audiences in Sydney.”

Good Bad Films director and producer Anurag Kashyap added, “I am thrilled that Kennedy will be shown in Sydney after Cannes, and more importantly, that I will finally get to participate in this beautiful festival . It’s going to be a beautiful journey for Kennedy.”

Devashish Makhija, director and producer, Makhija Films, added, “Zoram being selected in the main competition at Australia’s biggest – the Sydney Film Festival – becomes all the more special as we address the festival’s widespread sustainability concerns and the importance of Zoram. K finds great synergy between its narrative that seeks to question the cost of development and the inequalities of justice. It seems the hard work and passion has been rewarded as we recognize Makhija Films’ Zoram as the Best Curator and Audience Award in World Cinema. See it as a deep resonance between.”
