ButFLiX Team. Actress Dia Mirza welcomed son Avyan in May 2021 and the months that followed were the toughest times for the new mom. In a recent interview, the actress recalled the tough days of her pre-mature baby and revealed that the situation was life-threatening for both the mother and the baby.
In an interaction with the media, Dia Mirza said that she had to undergo appendix surgery during the fifth month of her pregnancy and perhaps this surgery caused some “bacterial infection” in her body. “My placenta was bleeding and the doctor said I had to take your baby out otherwise I would have gone into sepsis. It was life-threatening for both of us and the baby had to undergo surgery within 36 hours of birth.”
The actress further revealed that Avyan had to undergo another surgery soon after that and during all this, she could not physically be with him. And then three and a half months after he was born, he had to undergo a second surgery. He was in the NICU at that time. I was not even allowed to touch her until two and a half months had passed since she was born.
Diya further said – All this happened during the second wave of the pandemic so there was a set of rules which they had to follow which made the process even more difficult for the new mother. He was so small and so fragile and because of covid I had to follow all kinds of conditions and rules. I was only allowed to see my baby twice a week. So it was very tough but in the midst of all this I always believed that he would not leave me, would fight and survive.
Let us tell you, Dia Mirza married businessman Vaibhav Rekhi in February 2021. After a few months of marriage, the actress welcomed son Avyan, who is now one year old.
