Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor won the Best Actor and Best Actress awards at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards held in Mumbai on Monday.

Mumbai The Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards were announced on Monday, with The Kashmir Files winning the Best Film award and Anupam Kher winning the Most Versatile Actor award for the film. Not only did Alia Bhatt receive the Best Actress award for Gangubai Kathiawadi, but husband Ranbir Kapoor also received the Best Actor award for Brahmastra on her behalf.

Actor-filmmaker Rishab Shetty won the Most Promising Actor award for his Kannada film Kantara. Varun Dhawan also won the Critics Best Actor Award for his film Bhediya. In television series, the Rupali Ganguly-starrer Anupamaa took home the Television Series of the Year award at the festival.

Actress Rekha was honored with the award for her ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Film Industry’. She attended the event in a golden saree and was seen bonding with Alia in a white saree. Both hugged and kissed each other and also posed for the media together. Meanwhile, Hariharan won an award for ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Music Industry’.

Kangana Ranaut, on the other hand, took to Instagram Stories to express her dismay at the star kids taking away major awards and shared her list of ‘deserving’ winners. He also claimed that the ‘Nepo mafia’ has ruined the careers of self-made people.
