In fact Dev D’s album marked Amit Trivedi’s entry into film music and grabbed headlines and won hearts through his unique kind of music. Amit Trivedi will now be seen taking it to the next level in his fourth partnership with Anurag Kashyap.
By the way, the coming together of veterans like Amit Trivedi and Anurag Kashyap is special in itself. The album of Anurag Kashyap’s latest film ‘Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat’ has been inspired by his desire to always experiment and present something new to the audience.
Amit Trivedi and lyricist Shelly worked for 4 years on the music album and finally created tracks for every mood, and present a quirky take on modern romance and young love. The team didn’t want to compromise on any aspect of the music making process and took full advantage of the lockdown, tried a lot and finally came up with great music. For this the lyricist Shelly really had to release the poet in her and spent time with her son and daughter of filmmaker Anurag Kashyap to understand the vocabulary used by today’s generation.
Complimenting Amit, Anurag Kashyap says, “Amit and I have shared a friendship of 15 years and every time we have worked together, he has given me unforgettable songs and this is no exception. Amit has given his soul for the album of this film and I really like the way he works with me patiently in all kinds of situations.
He further added, “Amit and Shelly have given their entire 4 years working on its music as it is a very different world lyrically. It was a difficult task as Shelly had to forget the poet in her and sit with her son and her daughter to use the language of today’s generation.”
Whereas Amit Trivedi says, “Anurag always has a different vision for his films. Dev D was a turning point in my career, but we look at every film with a new vision and try to innovate with every collaboration and in the album ‘Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat’ we are going to give something to the audience. Only to be seen.”
Alaya F and Karan Mehta starrer ‘Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat’ was recently presented at Jemaa El Fna Square in Marrakech this year. The film was screened alongside other great films by such luminaries as Guillermo del Toro, Paul Schrader and James Grey. Anurag Kashyap’s film is said to be based on Modern Love and is slated to release on February 3, 2023.
