Mumbai: Bollywood movies are going through a bad phase at the box office. Barring one or two films, all the films have proved to be laggy in terms of earnings. Not only this, this year proved to be very bad at the box office for Khiladi Kumar, who gave back to back hits. Akshay Kumar’s ‘Bachchan Pandey’, which released on Holi, Samrat Prithviraj and the recently released Raksha Bandhan thrashed badly at the box office.
In the midst of all this, Akshay is coming with his another film ‘Katputli’. This psychological thriller film will be released on digital platform not in cinemas. The trailer of the film was launched on Saturday. At the trailer launch event of his film, Akshay Kumar spoke on the poor performance of films at the box office.
‘Khiladi Kumar’ said-Films not working, it is our fault, it is my fault. I have to change, understand what the audience wants and no one else can be blamed for this except me.
Akshay Kumar further said-It all depends on the mood of the people. Sometimes a silly comedy also earns a good amount. Sometimes a good film also flops. I have seen many such examples in my career. So I guess it all depends on what kind of mood my audience is in.
Talking about the story of the film ‘Puppet’, then this story is of a Kasauli city. Where 3 murders happen and a serial killer is behind it. Akshay and his team are on the hunt for the serial killer. The film also stars Rakul Preet Singh. The film will release on 2nd September on Kodijni Plus Hotstar.
