Bangladeshi actor Deepjol, known for his negative roles, has expressed displeasure over the decision to allow Hindi films to be released in his country. He said the move would affect regional cinema and Hindi films were not in sync with the country’s “social culture”.

According to the report, Deepjol said, ‘We are trying to make good films to impress our audience. If Hindi films are imported, our films will be badly affected.

Deepjol further said that for the last few months we have been trying to bring people to the theatres. We want people to come with their families to watch movies which reflect our culture and tradition. In such a situation, if Hindi films are released then we will be at a loss.

Deepjol also said that Bollywood films contain obscene scenes and therefore should not be screened in Bangladesh. ‘Pathan’ has many vulgar songs and scenes. They do not go with our social culture.

Let me tell you, in the year 2014, Bangladesh had banned the release of any Bollywood film in its country. Now after 9 years, preparations are being made for the release of Pathan in theaters there. But before that he is being opposed.
At the same time, the Information Ministry of Bangladesh has given the green signal to release Hindi films in the country. In a press conference, the ministry and 19 film-related organizations agreed that 10 Hindi films would be released in Bangladeshi cinema halls every year.
