Shooting of ‘The Archies’ ended, cast and crew celebrated by cutting cake, Zoya Akhtar shared photos

Zoya Akhtar has wrapped up shooting for the upcoming Netflix film The Archies starring Agastya Nanda, Suhana Khan and Khushi Kapoor. The comic book adaptation will release on the streaming platform next year.

Mumbai Christmas came early for the cast and crew of the upcoming Netflix film, The Archies, as the film wrapped up its shoot on Monday, revealed Zoya Akhtar. The filmmaker shared pictures from the sets, where Christmas banners and decorations were already set up. The Indian adaptation of the popular American comic book series stars Agastya Nanda, Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Mihir Ahuja, Dot, Yuvraj Menda and Vedang Raina. The film marks the debut of Agastya, grandson of actor Amitabh Bachchan and great-grandson of actor-filmmaker Raj Kapoor. Actor Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana and late actress Sridevi’s daughter Khushi are also making their acting debut.

Zoya put up a clapboard post with the last shot of the film and shared several pictures celebrating the cast and crew. Zoya wrote, “Archiesssss! Film wrap. Best crew. Best cast. Only gratitude.” The filmmaker and the gang cut a lovely cake in honor of the film’s completion, and Zoya later posed on the sets for a special picture with the lead cast. One of the banners on the festive set read, ‘Sing Out! Because Christmas has come.’


The post was instantly flooded with comments congratulating Zoya for the film. Agastya’s mother, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, sister Navya Naveli Nanda reacted to this post. Zoya’s mother, veteran actor Honey Irani wrote: “Congratulations and best wishes to the entire team.”

Directed by Zoya and co-written by filmmakers, Reema Kagti and Ayesha Devitre, The Archies is a musical drama set in the 1960s. The music of the film is given by Ankur Tiwari & The Islanders. Earlier this year, Zoya spoke about the honor of adapting the feature film of Archie Comics. They said in a statement, “It’s exciting to take these beloved characters and introduce them to a new generation, but still keep the nostalgia of the original comic alive. We’ve set it in the Anglo-Indian community in India.” and can.” The film is expected to release on Netflix next year.
