Mumbai Mega Power Star Ram Charan is busy overseas with his film ‘RRR’. The actor is also nominated for an Oscar. Recently, Ram Charan spoke on various topics ranging from the journey of ‘RRR’ to his upbringing in Hyderabad, Oscar nominations and more.
Ram Charan said- ‘I was growing up watching Papa’s awards and cinema magazines and if I ever went to the office below the house to buy some stationery and by mistake entered the house with one of his photographs.. There were no pictures of him, no magazines or anything made by fans in our house. A famous Indian artist made a painting of her and that too could not find a place in the house because he did not want his work to affect his house. They thought it was very glamorous, glamorous as an industry and they wanted us to live as normal a life as possible, they didn’t want us to know that we have a superstar father and assume that Everything will be easy for us. Whatever he did was right till date, I am able to pay my EMIs and continue it and I am doing well because of his upbringing and the way I was.’
Talking about his film ‘RRR’, the actor said- ‘RRR is a platform where the journey is about to come which all the hardworking directors and people of the film industry in India wanted to see from last 85 years. This is one way. Our ultimate goal is to be recognized on the world stage.
On Oscar nomination, Ram Charan said- “The people I am talking about don’t even know what this is going to do for our country.” You cannot understand the result of this day. It is an emotional environment for all of us. It is emotional for my father who is waiting in India. Before I took the flight, he was so emotional that I was coming here. He has done 154 films and has been working for 42 years, he has gone to Oscars in the 80s and that too for an appearance and he feels that is also a big achievement. But today we are nominated and our name is in the list and now we are waiting. He told me the importance of being a young actor, because in this career path we don’t appreciate it, but he knows the value and I am really sure, we are all praying for the same in India. yes, not just for actors but it’s like winning olympic gold medal for India, I don’t run but I just feeling that when my Indian player has that medal, Oscar is equal to olympic gold medal for us ‘
