New Delhi / Team Digital. Mrunal Thakur is one actress who is definitely on the rise. With films across genres including social drama, thriller, comedy among other genres, 2023 has a packed line up. 2022 has also been a rewarding year for the actress, with her debut film in the South, Seetha Ramam, now featuring in the top 10 national films of the year as per IMDB’s list. Not only did the film do well in its original Telugu and Malayalam versions, but it did equally well critically and at the box office for its Hindi release, making Mrinal an actor who has now gained nationwide acceptance.
‘Sita Ramam’ included in top films
IMDb Round Up is a reputed ranking method as it is an audience driven platform, on which the film has received at least 25000 or more organic votes which is a high score on the platform. Seetha Ramam received an audience rating of 8.6/10, making it one of the top films of the year.
The film got national appreciation
Mrinal received her trophy for the honor and expressed her gratitude for the love she has received, saying, “It is nothing less than unreal for me to be at this stage today. When I started with ‘Love Sonia’, I never expected to come here so soon. I am very happy that the audience has liked me and most importantly my character of Sita. This film is very close to my heart and very special for many reasons. From finding my way as an actor in the film industry to now getting national appreciation from the audience, which makes me really happy. It’s an exciting time to be an actor and work with filmmakers and that’s what I want to keep striving for.”
Talking about the work front, Mrinal has come up with an educational project in 2023. These include 5 releases including ‘Pippa’ with Ishaan Khatter, ‘Gumrah’ with Aditya Roy Kapur, her next title lead ‘Pooja Meri Jaan’, ‘Saath Aankh Micholi’ with Abhimanyu Dassani, and the anthology Lust Stories 2 on Netflix. Which is directed by R Balki.
