Mumbai: The stars of Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt’s career are currently on high. While on one hand Alia has given back to back hit films, on the other side news is coming that Alia’s film Gangubai Kathiawadi is going to the Oscars. Alia Bhatt played the lead character of Mumbai’s mafia queen Gangubai in the film. Gangubai Kathiawadi received a lot of love from critics and audiences upon its release.
The film is based on Hussain Zaidi’s book ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film was released in theaters on 25 February 2022. It is known that Gangubai Kathiawadi came in a changed environment after Corona. After making a splash in theatres, the film was also released on the OTT platform. Alia Bhatt’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ also raised the flag of success on the OTT platform.
Bhansali’s ‘Devdas’ went to the Oscars earlier
